Second Generation Of Maruti Suzuki Celerio Launched In India
The Indo-Japanese car maker Maruti Suzuki India Limited, today launched the highly awaited second generation of the Celerio hatchback in India. The price of Celerio 2021 starts from Rs 4.99 lakh for the base variant and goes high up to Rs 6.94 lakh for the top-end variant. Both the prices are ex-showroom prices in Delhi. In its new avatar, the Celerio is developed on a new Heartect platform. The same platform is used in developing the next generations of WagonR, Dzire, and Swift. According to the company sources, the new Celerio is the most fuel-efficient petrol hatchback in the country. It is claimed to deliver an average of 26.8 kmpl.

Mechanically, the 2021 Celerio receives a new 1.0-litre, three-cylinder Dual Jet, Dual VVT, K10C petrol engine. The engine develops a power of 66 bhp and a torque of 89 Nm. The transmission duties are performed by a 5-speed manual gear transmission system along with an option of AMT or AGS (Auto Gear Shift) transmission system. The next generation of Celerio will go against the likes of Hyundai Santro, Tata Tiago, and Datsun GO.
Speaking about the looks of the New Maruti Suzuki Celerio, it receives a new design philosophy known as 3D- Organic Sculpted Design. That means it receives a toll-boy look, a new front grille with chrome garnished single plate. The front fascia also receives a pair of new swept-back headlamps, a bold front bumper with black cladding and a set of new fog lamps. The side profile receives the body-coloured ORVMs with integrated turn signals, flared wheel arches, and new 15-inch Urbane black alloy wheels. On the rear portion, it receives a set of new taillights, a new body-coloured bumper with reflectors, a rear windshield wiper.
Inside the cabin, the new Celerio receives the all-new black coloured treatment with a newly designed dashboard. The list of features offered on the interior front includes a three-spoke tilt-adjustable steering wheel with mounted controls, a big instrument cluster, and an analogue speedometer and a digital rev counter. The interior segment also receives two ports for a 12 V charger, USB and AUX-IN, a manual air-conditioner system, and new air-conditioner vents with silver accents.
Other features offered inside the cabin are - engine push-start button with a smart key, Pollen type AC filter, a keyless entry, a height-adjustable driver seat, and 60:40 split rear seats. On the safety front, it receives the features like a Hill Hold Assist function with the AGS/AMT variants, dual airbags, front-seat belt reminder, high-speed alert, ABS+EBD, and a few more.
