Swift rival Sail UVA sales target set, 4k units a month

The recent launch of the Chevrolet Sail UVA has inspired the car maker to be highly bullish about India and the initial response will prove it right. Now that the car maker has seen the craze for the UVA (Yuva as it is called), it reportedly plans to sell at least 4000 unit of it every month. Though this number is not hard to attain even in this period when the car maker is undergoing a bad phase and the sales are not as enthusiastic as these were supposed to be. The reason behind this is the high interest rate. The Chevrolet Sail UVA price that starts at Rs 4.44 lakh is also helping it a lot in getting a huge turnout. 

Seen as the most competent rival of Maruti Swift after the new Ford Figo, the Sail UVA also offers class leading mileage and space to its buyers. In addition to this, the car also marks a serious comeback by Chevrolet in the B+ segment which was till now handled by Chevrolet Aveo UVA. With the entry of the Sail UVA, Chevrolet has phased out Aveo UVA. Meanwhile, sensing the rising demand for this new hatchback, the car maker has also decided to step up the production capacity of the Halol plant in Gujarat and it will be producing over 1.10 lakh cars annually thereafter the expansion is over. Currently it is producing over 85k cars annually.

 
The saga does not end here and Chevrolet has two big car launches ahead. The first and just ahead is the Chevrolet Sail sedan launch and after that the car maker will be launching the Chevrolet Enjoy MPV. Where the Chevrolet Sail sedan will take on the Maruti Swift Dzire, the Enjoy put a check on the growing popularity of Maruti Ertiga.
