Tata Motors to pump in £500m at JLR UK plant and also to double manpower

Jaguar Land Rover UK engine plant owned by Tata Motors is expected to receive investments of approximately £500m. This plant is also believed to double the employees’ number under its new expansion strategies. This British company owned by Tata Motors did confirm investment up to £2.75 bn during the financial year 2013-14 and this new announcement of £500m investment is also the part of the same plan. Company will be adding skilled manufacturing and engineering jobs and has decided to appoint 1400 employees at the plant site. This plant expansion is commensurate with the increase in demand for Jaguar cars. Notably, the Jaguar XJ Ultimate and other Land Rover cars have created much demand for themselves in their respective segments.

Interestingly, a brand new plant is also going to be unveiled soon and the first engine is believed to be introduced in the year 2015. The engines manufactured by this plant will be in the form of lightweight and superior four cylinder diesel and petrol engines. These engines will be extremely fuel efficient and will emit lower amount of CO2. This is really commendable because as the price of fuel is increasing frequently, customers have begun looking for fuel efficient vehicles. Constant rise in the prices of fuel are actually compelling automobile manufacturers to pay utmost attention to better R&D so that they can come up with fuel-efficient cars. These engines are currently undergoing through a developmental phase at the R&D department of Jaguar Land Rover plant.
 
Though, research on developing fuel-efficient engines is going to take long time but at the same time there is no doubt that, this R&D will facilitate the company in enlarging the engine range of the company. The imminent plant will be located on the 100,000 sq meters of the Jaguar Land Rover UK facility which also possesses assembly facilities and manufacturing unit. Apart from that, company has also assured about launching 8 brand new vehicles during the present year. With so many new announcements, the future of this company certainly looks promising as it is not only a step towards developing more fuel-efficient cars for benefiting customers but it is also a commendable step towards generating better employment opportunities.
