Toyota Corolla Axio and Corolla Fielder station wagon launched
One of the world’s bestselling cars Toyota Corolla Axio has been launched in Japan along with its station wagon model Toyota Corolla Fielder. The Corolla sedan is one of the sedans by Toyota that has been utmost successful in several countries across the globe and it has also got a good response in India as well where it is sold as Toyota Corolla Altis. The Toyota Corolla Altis price in India starts at Rs 11 lakh and is available in both diesel and petrol options as well as manual and automatic transmission options. The Toyota Corolla Axio price in Japan is $17,217 while the Corolla Fielder price starts at $18,995.

World over the over 39 million Corolla’s have been sold since its launch in 1966 and it is now in its eleventh generation. It is manufactured by Toyota subsidiary Central Motors, in Miyagi prefecture in Japan. This new generation Toyota Corolla Axio as is it is called in Japan has compact dimensions compared to the tenth generation and is more so a city car. Back in India, the Corolla Altis is a close rival of Fiat Linea, Volkswagen Vento, Maruti SX4, Chevrolet Optra Magnum and other sedans such as Skoda Rapid and Honda City. The new Corolla is expected to be launched in India soon.

The new Toyota Corolla Axio launched in Japan is the new generation Corolla and it is around 2 inches short in length but the rear legroom has been increased considerably. Despite of the reduction in length, the boot space of the Corolla Fielder has been increased by over 3.5 inches and thus with slightly shorter length, the new generation Corolla maintains turning radius of just under 16 feet. Thus it now turns to have perfect proportions of a city car. Also, a new petrol engine comes with high power and high fuel efficiency.
