Volvo India mounts up prices of all its models from Rs 1 lakh

Volvo Auto India, the subsidiary unit of Swedish car maker, Volvo Automobiles has increased the prices of all its models after the announcement of 2012-13 Union Budget. The entire fleet of Volvo cars i.e. the S60, the S80, the XC60 and the XC90 will now be available at the increased prices for the car buyers.

The company has increased the price of its car models in by less than 3 % in which the minimum increase in price is Rs. 1 lakh, while the maximum increase in price is Rs. 1.30 lakh. The increased purchase price of S60 D3 Kinetic is Rs. 25,00,000 while it was earlier available at Rs. 24,21,000. The S80 sports machine that was earlier available at Rs. 27,00,000 would now be available at the price of Rs. Rs 28,00,000. Likewise, the crossover XC60 (D3 engine) would be available at the increased price of Rs. 35,25,000. Volvo has been struggling to get a good hold on the domestic auto market and these increased prices for all its models, might hinder the buyers to go for it products.

Volvo recently unveiled its small car V40 at the Geneva Motor Show 2012 that was applauded by the automobile critics. Speculations are that the car maker would launch this small car on the Indian shores too by early 2013. Furthermore, this Swedish auto-giant is also looking forward to launch the S90 saloon by late 2012 or in the beginning of 2013.
