2012 Chevrolet Captiva Sport recalled
The General Motors (GM) has recalled 2012 Chevrolet Captiva Sport after the company found that it has some fault that may cause accident, if the problem is not fixed on time. The sources said that the company has found some fault in the parking brakes in some of the units produced in 2012. Around 2,070 units of 2012 Chevrolet Captiva Sport were produced recently, but the GM has recalled all of them to fix the issue present. These vehicles were only sold in the US market.

The vehicles that were produced between April 26 and May 17 are under the scanner of the company. GM would replace the defective parts in Chevrolet Captiva Sports with the new one. An auto industry source said that the cable of parking brakes were not properly fitted which could cause accidents. There are possibilities of parking brake failure. The company made available 2012 Chevrolet Captiva Sport in three trim levels – LS, LT and LTZ. The LT and LTZ models come with 3.0-liter V6. The other stunning feature of top end LTZ is its interior that has leather-trimmed seats. Also, the rear-view camera and premium audio system makes the car different from its competitors.

General Motors launched the 2012 Chevrolet Captiva Sport in the US to tap the increasing demand for compact crossovers by fleet customers. Since, the company has realized that the parking brakes has some problem, it has decided to inform the owners about the mistake. From July 18, the owners will be notified while the company would start inspecting and replacing the faulty parts of the car absolutely free.
Here in India, GM has recently launched the face-lifted Chevrolet Captiva 2.2L AT version in order to fight with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra XUV 500 and Ford Endeavour.
