After Hyundai Sonata, Hyundai gears up for new i20 launch

The next big launch on cards of Hyundai India is the fluidic inspired new i20. The first one being the launch of Hyundai Sonata yesterday. Where Sonata has entered the Indian shores second time after a first spell many years ago. The next big launch from the Hyundai stable will be the i20 hatchback that was recently unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. The new Hyundai i20 is eagerly awaited as the prospective buyers are waiting for the launch to happen. The new i20 price will now be decided as per the new excise duty norms and it is expected to be more than the present model which starts at a price of Rs 5.33 lakh on road approximately.

 
Recently the new i20 has been spotted in Chennai during a test run and some of the test mule was without the camouflage. All these camouflage less testing indicate that the i20 launch is just few days away. The new Hyundai hatchback has witnessed a sharp step up in its features compared to the present model and the fluidic design seems to have more of its effect than anything else. The changes seem to have made the car more likely to attract customers as compared to Maruti Swift, Volkswagen Polo, Fiat Punto, Skoda Fabia and other premium hatchbacks available in India.  

Strikingly, there are changes to the front and the rear. The front has been almost redesigned from scratch with new styling, new headlamps and new bumper. The rear gets new design with all new tail lamps. The interiors are expected to remain almost like the outgoing model however, some upgrade in plastics and color combination as well as come inserts are expected. Like the exiting model, new i20 will be available in petrol and diesel models as well. It is expected that the six speed automatic gearbox could again find a place in the new i20.
