Audi Q3 to launch in India

Audi India is set to launch its newest SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) - the Audi Q3 in the Indian auto market by the next year. With the launch, Audi India bids to increase the market share of the company in the Indian car market.

Production of the car has already started in Spain and the Audi Q3 is first expecting to hit the US and the European roads by the end of the year 2011. The Audi Q3 will compete against the likes of BMW X1 and the others in the price range of Rs 20 Lakh to 25 Lakh.

The Audi Q3 will ship to India as a Completely Knocked-down Unit (CKD), and then reassembled at the company’s plant in Aurangabad. Audi Q3 is expected to be launched in both the Petrol and the Diesel version. The 2.0L diesel variant of the car is proficient to deliver a peak power of 170bhp; the 2.0L petrol engine delivers power of 211bhp.

The car is expected to come with the four wheel drive option (4WD). At present Audi sits at the third position in the Indian luxury car, behind the Mercedes and the BMW occupying the first and second position respectively. Audi India’s fleet currently comprises of Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A7, and Audi A8 in the sedan segment, and SUVs like Audi Q5 and Audi Q7.
