Audi R8 caught fire at the Bandra Worli Sea link

It was a something, which you would imagine in your dreams or see in a movie. A disastrous incident took place at the Bandra Worli Sea Link in Mumbai recently. The Audi R8 sports car caught fire on the way. Thankfully, the driver didn’t face any injury and is safe and sound. The incident occurred when 2013 Parx Super Car Rally was going through the Bandra Worli Sea link. The car literally caught high flames and to be noted, it was not the part of this rally. Right now, the company has taken the burnt Audi R8 into possession and is being examined thoroughly. The firm will figure out the reason why it burnt so ingloriously while driving. Apparently, the burnt parts of the car were altered by the owner. The car was worth Rs. 1.80 crore.

In all this hullaballoo, the Audi India officials and 2013 Parx Super Car show officials made it very clear that the Audi R8 that caught fire was not the part of the rally. It hasn’t been long that Audi India launched R8 sports car in India. The car was rolled out a couple of days ago, which has been powered by two engine options, V8 churning out 430PS of power and V10 producing 525PS of power. Both the engines are coupled with new 7-Speed S-Tronic transmission.

Besides the strong engine, the new Audi R8 is blessed with new exteriors, which comprise of LED tail cluster and dynamic headlamp cluster. The interiors were also refurbished to make it more alluring than before. The burnt Audi R8 was the new one, which was being driven with a great speed. Also, the brand new 2013 Audi R8 was seen in the latest Bollywood flick, ‘Race 2’, starring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone.
