BMW Group Design products received the ‘best of the best’ Award
When you speak of BMW, you talk about the best in class. This time the BMW Group Design has attained another milestone by bagging the Red Dot Award for 2012 product design in 11 of the internationally coveted honors for the best in class quality for its two products i.e. the BMW AirFlow 2 helmet and the Husqvarna Nuda 900 R motorcycle. Moreover, this award was also bagged by other exceptional BMW cars, that include; BMW 6 Series Coupe, BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe, BMW M5, BMW 1 Series M Coupe, BMW C 600 Sport, BMW C 650 GT, BMW G 650 GS and BMW K 1600 GT. Furthermore, the BMW 3 Series Sedan has also been entitled as the “honorable mention”. The Red Dot Awards would be presented on 2nd July 2012 at the Aalto Theatre in Essen.

The Red Dot Awards were initially started in 1955 and are given for the most prominent product designs. The Red Dot Award jury has got 30 international design professionals who give the award as appreciation of phenomenal design achievements in various fields i.e. from cars to architecture, medicine, consumer electronics and life science. This time around 1,800 major companies and independent designers from across 58 different nations took part in the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2012. In total, 4,515 entries were received for 19 different categories.

Red Dot Award this time has been in favor of two BMW Group Design machines for highest quality seal. BMW AirFlow 2 helmet has been chosen as the best designed product due to its optimal ventilation, short visor and light weight that showcases the BMW Group’s explicit modern design work.

Apart from these two accolades, BMW Group Design also received eight Red Dot Awards for the premium design quality. The 6 Series Gran Coupe has got the absolute designing, luxurious interiors and high quality metal work. The new BMW M5 too has got symmetric outfit with that showcases the excellent saloon characteristic of the car maker. The BMW 1 Series M Coupe is entry level product in the BMW M fleet. At the Red Dot Award, the extreme churner, 3 Series Sedan from BMW got “honorable mention” due to its perfect detail solution. The 3 Series is the spotless premium sedan from the car maker blessed with beauty, symmetric framework and upscale luxury.
