BMW to recall units of 3 Series produced during May 1999 to August 2006

With an objective to provide safe driving experience to its esteemed customer’s German luxurious car maker BMW has announced to recall the units of its 3 Series luxurious sedan from global market. These units are said to be manufactured during May 1999 to August 2006. The problem in these units is associated with side airbags. According to sources of car maker although there has not been any issue with these units till date, but this step has been taken as a preventive measure to protect the owners from any unfortunate incident. However as the same mechanism is adopted by its contenders and their buyers have faced issue with air bags.

The sources associated with company said that although till date there has not been any recorded but the problem may arise anytime in gas generator which may break and control the activation of airbag. This recall is an intentional safety measure to ensure the buyers of those units protect from any incident. The sources of company also claim that this recall is in continuation of recall made in 2013. At that time the issue was associated with poor quality of gas generators supplied from the supplier. Last year company had recalled about 2, 40,000 units of 3 Series.

According to technical team of car maker the buyers of 3 Series would be required to take their sedan to their respective dealer after which within an hour the issue would be solved. It would be important to mention that only units 3 Series manufactured during 1999 to 2006 will be offered this rectification and will not be offered on the units recalled last year. with this recall the car maker intends to extend the trust of its customers for offering them safe driving vehicles.
