Jaguar Land Rover car plant in India on cards
Tata Motors is doing every bit to establish Jaguar Land Rover completely in India. The company is in plans to set-up a manufacturing plant of JLR in India. Right now, JLR has an assembly plant in India located in Pune. There, cars like Land Rover Freelander 2 are assembled, which is imported from United Kingdom as CKD kits. JLR wasn’t facing a good time in the West, when it was purchased by Tata Motors from Ford. But, the cars by JLR have turned out to be top-class for Indian consumers and for Tata Motors. It has certainly pushed Tata into the premium luxury segment of the Indian car bazaar. Ratan Tata acquired the Jaguar Land Rover for a whopping $2.5 million. Since that time, JLR has come up as a shining star and discovered new products and encountered new markets, such as China, India and Russia.
According to the outgoing Chairman of Ratan Tata, Jaguar will develop and design some entry level luxury vehicles, which will be competing with cars like BMW 3 Series. These entry level luxury cars by jaguar would be perfect for flourishing markets, where consumers are hopeful to buy a luxury car on their own. Recently, JLR put it out in the open that it is planning for a big $2.5 billion investment in Saudi Arabia to set-up a manufacturing plant there.
