BMW X3 petrol in the offing
The BMW X3 Crossover certainly misses the powerful petrol engine under its hood in India. However, no more, as the German car maker has decided to launch BMW X3 petrol in India as well. Presently, it is available in two diesel models i.e. BMW X3 xDrive 20d and BMW X3 XDrive 30d. The Rs 45 lakh SUV will see an addition of the petrol models soon. As per an estimate, a twin turbo petrol engine is expected to do its service in the BMW X3 petrol car in India. With the petrol unit under the hood, BMW X3 will be able to better compete with the likes of Audi Q5 and Volvo XC60 which are also available in India.

When BMW X3 was launched a couple of years ago, a diesel was offered in India sensing that the country is obsessive with diesel cars but it seems that with the impending tax burden on diesel cars in India following which the diesel cars will be more costly than the petrol units, BMW is thinking of putting up a more affordable petrol model. Whereas the petrol unit will further boost power in the BMW SUV, car buyers can see a slash in price of the car.
