Chevrolet Sail again in news, launch time nearer
Chevrolet Sail, one of the much awaited car models in the Indian market is all set to mark its debut in the country in June 2012. The all new Chevrolet Sail was spotted testing on Indian roads recently, indicating towards its early launch. The spy pictures of the car were posted on a number of car blogs and portals, further increasing the eagerness of the car enthusiasts in the Indian market.
Fully covered in camouflaging; the Chevrolet Sail sedan was on its way for road tests early in the morning. It is not the first time when Chevrolet Sail was spotted testing on the Indian roads, as the car has been spotted a couple of times earlier also in hatchback versions.

The Chevrolet Sail will be launched in both hatchback and sedan versions in the Indian market, replacing the Aveo U-Va hatchback and Aveo sedan. The Aveo duo has been receiving a moderate response in the Indian market, left far behind in sales as compared to the all of their new generation competitors.

The hatchback version of the Chevrolet Sail will come powered by a 1.2-liter S-TEC II petrol engine, is likely to be the same one that is currently doing duties in the Chevrolet Beat sedan. On the other hand, the entry level sedan version of the car will come powered by a 1.4L petrol engine. The car is already available for sale in the foreign markets in petrol versions. The Sail line-up will be compatible with BS-IV emission norms.
Interestingly in India, it is most probable that the company will launch diesel versions of both hatchback and sedan versions of the Chevrolet Sail. The company is likely to source 1.3L Multijet diesel engine from Fiat to roll-out diesel versions of Sail in India, the same one which has already proven its performance in Maruti Swift and Maruti Swift Dzire models. Both versions of Chevrolet Sail are likely to be same as available in other foreign markets and will be carrying somewhat similar feature list.
