Chevrolet Sail becomes the most selling Chinese car overseas

The Chevrolet Sail sedan is attaining newer peaks of success just ahead of its launch in India. Recently, it was known that the Chevrolet has sold over 1 lakh Sail sedans and hatchback version overseas and this makes it the largest Chinese car model that is sold overseas. Meanwhile, the Indian wing of Chevrolet is preparing for the launch of this car in the country and as per the initial information it will be launched in the first week of January. In China, the Sail sedan has completed over two years and in addition to the domestic demand, over 100,139 Sails were sold in the overseas markets. These markets include Chile, Columbia, Ecuador and Peru.  

In India, the car maker has already sold the hatchback version of the same named Chevrolet Sail UVA and it is giving some tough time to the segment leader Maruti Swift and the recent launch new Ford Figo. Meanwhile, the Indian auto industry is eagerly waiting for the Sail sedan as it will be replacing the Chevrolet Aveo which is being sold at a discounted price. Alike the Sail hatchback, the sedan will be launched in petrol and diesel versions and the diesel is expected to have high mileage.

In China, the Sail is sold in 14 different variants and this includes the two new hatchback variants launched in there recently. The sedan version is already under production in India and has been spotted along with the Chevrolet Enjoy MPV recently. It is expected that the new sedan will be giving a close fight to Maruti Swift Dzire and Tata Indigo sedan once it is launched in the country. High mileage and affordable price will be the two plus about the car that will be pushing it forward in India and will give it an edge over other cars in the segment.
