Chevrolet Sail has gone through all testing procedure in Pune

 

The much awaited and anticipated, Chevrolet Sail premium hatchback has been caught in Pune, showcased at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. At the time of its unveiling the President and Managing Director of General Motors India, Lowell Paddock has said that the Chevrolet Sail hatchback has been especially designed to the cater the needs of local customers with its user-friendly nature and affordability.
 
 In order to expand the Indian operations, company is targeting the most challenging and growing domestic passenger car market. According to some sources, the company may replace the Chevrolet Aveo Sedan and Chevrolet Aveo U-VA hatchback with the upcoming Chevrolet Sail twins. These twins hit at the perfect point between the Chevrolet Beat and Chevrolet Optra
 
 
It will come boosted with the Fiat’s 1.3 litre Mulit-jet diesel engine, manufactured at the company’s Talegaon plant in India. However, this premium hatchback car will struggle hard with the India’s best selling Maruti Swift and Maruti Swift Dzire. Originally, the SAIC (Chinese partner of GM) holds the credit of Sail’s designing concept and development, also contributing in Indian operations of the company.
 
 
To achieve the maximum attention and support of the buyers Chevrolet Sail has seemed to follow the same track of Tata Nano. The Chevrolet Sail twins meet certain international standards having technical specifications similar to its Chinese model including good pedestrian safety ratings, dual airbags, ABS, EBD etc. It was launched two years back in Chinese market.
