Chevrolet Sail sedan launch nears as spyshots are on the rise
A little late than expected but Chevrolet Sail sedan launch is round the corner. Meanwhile, its junior Chevrolet Sail UVA is doing wonder to its brand and it might give a close fight to Maruti Swift in December sales. In the meantime, experts believe that the Chevrolet Enjoy MPV launch also nears which could dethrone Maruti Ertiga in the utility segment. Latest news reports regarding the Sail sedan confirm that its launch is just few weeks away. The Sail sedan will be competing with Maruti Swift Dzire and Tata Indigo eCS in the segment and it is quite possible that like the Sail UVA, it will also have unprecedented sales galore.

The car is being tested in and around Pune aggressively and as per sources information, the launch is near now as the car is now seen almost uncamoufalged and it suggests so. Things that are expected to help the Sail sedan in its success are that it will be offered in petrol and diesel engine options. Just like the Sail UVA, the sedan will have large space for the occupants inside as well as boot space. The car is also expected to have class leading mileage. The petrol engine will be 1.4 L capacity while the diesel will be the 1.3 L multijet engine that will be sourced from Fiat India. Thus the Maruti Swift Dzire and the Sail sedan will have the same engine under the hood but performance wise, initial projections are that the Sail sedan will supersede.

Once in the sedan will be replacing the ageing Chevrolet Aveo. Also, the sedan will debut the carmaker in a new segment that was untouched till now. Apart from this, the segment is soon to welcome Mahindra Verito CS but that will be around mid next year and by that time the Sail car by Chevrolet will easily settle down.
