Chevrolet Sail Sedan spotted on shores, this time

Earlier too there have been many incidences when Chevrolet Sail was spotted undergoing tests on the domestic shores. Now once again, the Sail sedan has been spotted undergoing test on the Mumbai shores. Both, the Chevy Sail sedan and its hatchback have been slated for launch in second half of 2012. Expectations are that the Sail hatchback would be introduced first in the second half of 2012 and its version would be brought on the shores by end of the year. This notchback is the first one from the car maker to be designed and developed by SAIC, GM’s Chinese alliance partner that has enabled it to low down its manufacturing cost.

The design of Sail is inspired from other Chevrolet cars like the Chevrolet Cruze sedan and the Chevrolet Beat hatchback, but additionally it has got all the modern trims and curves than makes it more comprehensive and attractive. GM is planning to replace the Chevrolet Aveo with the launch of Sail sedan and it would also introduce the hatchback variant of this car in order to get hold on the largest selling hatchback segment.

The Sail is bit enhanced than Chevrolet Aveo and has got fabulous styling and soothing interiors. The dashboard and the steering wheel of this car have been made quite intelligently giving this saloon a perfect touch inside. The Sail notchback would come powered by a 1.4 liter S-TEC III petrol engine that is speculated to produce peak power of 100 bhp.  It is also expected that the company would introduce later the 1.3 liter diesel version of this car that will have enough caliber to churn max power of 90 bhp.
