Ciaz will be the replacement of SX4 from MSIL

Maruti’s upcoming sedan codenamed YL1 will another new product that will be showcased during the forthcoming Indian Auto Expo 2014, scheduled to be organized next month. It is speculated that this new sedan will replace the existing SX4 and will be named as Ciaz, it is also anticipated that after unveiling this sedan in Auto Expo, company will launch it for sale by this year end. According to industry experts with this launch company intends to strengthen its position in segment of big cars which at present is not able to deliver expected results to company.
 
It is speculated that the upcoming sedan Ciaz will be equipped with 1.4 litre K2 engine producing the power of 94 bhp and developing torque of 130 Nm.  The same engine is integrated in company’s MPV Ertiga. As far as the diesel variant of this sedan is concerned it is expected to be equipped with 1.6 litre Multi jet engine from Fiat. Although it is also speculated that company may offer 1.3 litre DDiS engine churning the power of 89 bhp. According to reports the sedan has been spotted going through test drives on Indian roads at several occasions. The new sedan is completely based on company’s Authentics concept which it has displayed during Shanghai Motor Show 2013.
 
As reported earlier MSIL will launch its new hatchback Celerio during the Auto expo, thus replacing its existing hatchback A-Star. It is reported that company also speculates to showcase facelift versions of Maruti Swift and Maruti Swift Dzire during the event along with its iV-4 crossover concept car.
