Datsun sold 310 units of RediGo in Kerala in one day

Datsun the subsidiary of Japanese car maker Nissan Motors is reported to sale out 310 units of RediGo hatchback in Kerala in one day on the occasion of Malayalam New Year, Chingam. Encouraged from one day sales in Kerala, Mr. Arun Malhotra, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, said, "Kerala is an important market for us and we are always considering innovative initiatives to engage our customers. We are delighted to be part of our customer's lives on this auspicious occasion of Chingam festivities, and look forward to a prosperous year ahead.”

Mechanically RediGo is empowered with 799c iSAT three cylinder petrol engine that boosts the power of 53 bhp and torque of  72Nm and mated with five speed manual gear transmission system. The hatchback is reported to deliver an impressive average of 25.1 kmpl. With lucrative price tag of Rs. 2.43 lakh (ex-showroom price, Kochi) RediGo is impressing the first time buyers of cars to huge extent. It would be interested to know that during the first month after its launch the hatchback succeed in selling 3000 units in a month throughout the Indian car market. It is offered in five variants namely D,A,T, T(O), S and available in five eye catching colors including lime, white, silver, ruby and grey.

As far as luxury features offered in this new initiative by Japanese car maker are concerned it includes power steering in top end variants including T,T(O) and S, while except base variant D, all variants are equipped with air conditioner. The top two variants T(O) and S are empowered with 2-DIN audio system, that support connectivity with USB and AUX, CD player and front power windows. The safety features offered in top end variant S comprise of driver side airbag and day time running lamps.
 
With festive season coming around with each passing day it is believed that car manufacturers across the country will witness the same sales figures in coming day. The siren from Kerala is just an indication that soon Indian car market will receive same type of interesting news from other manufacturers also.
