Force Gurkha: Bookings start, deliveries to start soon
Force India has started the bookings of its highly awaited SUV Gurkha for Indian car market on the down payment of Rs. 25,000 after which the SUV would be handed over to owners within a fortnight. The SUV would be launched in diesel variant which would be empowered with 2.6 litre 4 cylinder turbocharged diesel engine producing the power of 82 PS @3200 rpm and torque of 230 Nm @1800 rpm – 2000 rpm. The engine would be mated with five speed manual gearbox. The SUV would be launched with two driving options of 4X2 and 4X4 in three trims, followed by option of hard top and soft top in 4X4 version.
The SUV is expected to be priced between Rs. 6.26 lakh and Rs. 8.49 lakh and is speculated to be blessed with contemporary features like air conditioner, power steering, leaf springs on rear axle, independent front suspension system, and 16 inch alloy wheels. The hard top version is capable of accommodating five persons while the soft top version can offer comfort seating experience to seven persons.
