GM India hopes to sell 48k units of Chevrolet Sail sedan this year
For Chevrolet year 2013 seems to be bring more delights than the yesteryear. Reason: it has the Chevrolet Sail UVA, Sail sedan in and the Chevrolet Enjoy MPV all set for a launch. In addition to this, the Sail UVA is giving sleepless nights to Maruti Swift and Ford Figo while the latest entry Sail sedan starting at Rs 4.99 lakh is gaining high level of popularity. Enthused by the tremendous initial response, Chevrolet hopes to sell as many as 48,000 units this year. As per sources information, the car has already amassed over 1k bookings and is all set to have 2k booking by this month end.
As the sedan segment constitutes over 23 percent of the car sales and the Sail sedan targets this segment, it is believed that the car will have a major share in the coming future. However, auto industry experts believe that the impending launch of Mahindra Verito compact sedan will be giving the final direction to car sales in this segment. It is also expected that the real competition between the Sail sedan, Maruti Swift Dzire and will begin in the coming months when the Verito CS arrives.
It is thus more than certain that year 2012 will be wiping all tears off Chevrolet’s face and will bring more smiles than ever to the car maker as these three cars – Sail UVA, Sail Sedan and the upcoming Enjoy MPV will cumulatively bring accolades to the car maker. Meanwhile, the Chevrolet is publicizing the Chevrolet Beat Diesel as well in the market and is popularizing its 25.44 kmpl mileage and is trying to woo as many customers as it can. Thus the rest of the two cars Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Tavera will also in all contribute to bring some exciting numbers on the sales chart.
