Honda Brio and City get expensive: Price hiked between Rs 4K to Rs 10.5K
Just a few days after the announcement of excise and customs duty hike by the Indian government in the Union Budget on 16th March, Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) has raised its India portfolio car prices by up to Rs 94 thousand. While the size of the hike is minimal for the compact hatchback Honda Brio at Rs. 4000, the high end premium sedan Honda Accord V6 has got biggest hike of up to Rs 93,975.
The company’s latest compact hatchback Honda Brio has now become expensive in the range of Rs 4,000 to Rs 10,000. The price hikes in the different variants of the car are as follows - Brio E MT by Rs 4,000; Brio S MT by Rs 5,000; Brio S(O) MT by Rs 5,000; and top end variant Brio V MT by Rs 10,000.

The variants of premium sedan Jazz have now become expensive in the range of Rs 14,972 to Rs 15,000. While the base and middle range variant (Jazz and Jazz Select) are now expensive by Rs 15,000 and Rs 14,900, the top end Jazz X has witnessed a price hike of 14,972.
On the other hand, the flagship sedan of the company Honda City has saw a price hike in the range of Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,500. The base variant of this car – City Corporate – and top end - City V AT (with sunroof) – are now dearer by Rs 10,500. On the other hand, the middle range E MT, S MT, V MT, V AT and V AT (sunroof) are now expensive by Rs 5,000, Rs 6,500, Rs 8,250, Rs 9,000 and Rs 9,750, respectively.
While the premium sedan Honda Civic prices have been raised in the range of Rs 36,600 to Rs 45,800, the Honda Accord sedan is now dearer by 67,500 to Rs 93,975.
