Honda Brio based MPV might break cover at 2013 Indonesia Motor Show

Honda Motors is certainly on the right track. First it came up with Honda Brio hatchback, and then it was Honda Amaze Sedan and now Honda Brio MPV. Three body styles with a single platform are surely impressive, isn’t it? According to the rumors in the market, the Honda Brio MPV might break cover at the upcoming Indonesia International Motor Show. This one is scheduled to take place in September 2013. India is said to be one of the major markets for this car along with other ASEAN countries.

If this unveiling rumor turns out to be correct, then the Honda Brio MPV will be seen with a lot of Indonesian touch as it will debut at IIMS 2013. This MPV by Honda would be pitted against cars like Maruti Ertiga, Chevrolet Spin and Toyota Avnaza. So far, no details of the car have been made public, but according to our reliable sources, the new Brio MPV might feature 1.2-Litre i-VTEC petrol engine that we have already seen in Brio hatchback. On the other hand, the Indian model could come with the 1.5-Litre i-DTEC diesel engine, which is a part of Honda’s EarthDreams project. This diesel engine will first come to India with Honda Brio Amaze sedan, which is likely to arrive in the Indian car market in next couple of months.

Besides this, Honda India recently launched a new Honda CRV model within the price range of Rs. 19.95 to Rs. 23.85 lakh. The SUV was rolled out in two engine options 2.0 and 2.4 litre engines. Although the launch in India has been done a year late as compared to the international car market, but its better late than never. Hopefully, Honda Brio Amaze and Honda Brio MPV also come to India soon!
