Honda Brio bookings crosses 5,000 unit mark

Honda Brio, the recently launched compact hatchback in the Indian market, is receiving an overwhelming response from the buyers in the country. In just three weeks of its launch in the country, the bookings of this attractive hatchback have crossed the 5,000 units mark.

The massive booking figures have been achieved by the Brio model despite the fact that the car is available in only petrol version; while there is a huge demand for diesel version of compact hatchbacks in the Indian market.

The Honda Brio model was launched in the Indian market in the last week of September 2011. The car has been launched only petrol version in the price segment of Rs 3.95 to 5.10 lakh, where it is fighting for space with the likes of, Maruti Swift, Ritz, Chevrolet Beat, Toyota Etios Liva, Hyundai i10 and Ford Figo.

In a bid to meet the high demand for the car in the country, the company is planning to increase the production of the car by 20 percent to 1,20,000 units annually at its Grater Noida based facility by the end of this financial year.

Powered by a 1.2 Litre, 1198cc, i-VTEC petrol engine, the car is capable of delivering a peak power of 88 Bhp at 6000 rpm and peak torque of 109 Nm at 4600 rpm. The car is claimed to be delivering a considerably high mileage of 18.4 km per liter.

The major attraction of the Honda Brio that makes it a high in demand car include highest in segment maximum power of 88 bhp, considerably high mileage of 18.4 km per liter, attractive all glass rear hatch, Integrated Audi System (AM/FM, MP3, USB, AUX-in), Steering mounted audio controls, ABS (Antilock Brake System) with EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution), and driver airbag (i-SRS) and front passenger airbag (SRS).
