Honda Brio launched in SA

It is after a long wait that Honda has finally launched the small car Honda Brio in the South African market. The car there will be forcing Ford Figo, Chevrolet Spark and Hyundai i10 to revise some of their specifications and price tags as the car offers features that are more than worth the price. The Brio that is sold in SA is built in India and exported from here. With the Brio launch in SA, it has become the entry level Honda hatchback in the country. The Honda price in SA starts at R119,800 for the manual transmission model and R129,800 for the automatic transmission model.

Notably, the Brio is a Honda car that has almost recovered the brand in India from slumber otherwise it was on the brink of rumors of a close down. The new small car in SA by Honda will be able to overcome the competitors well because it has all the features including small size, large boot space and a comfortable seating for five persons that an average family requires. In addition to this the Brio price will also help the car attain quick numbers both for the automatic as well as the manual transmission model.

Its other opponents include Kia Picanto as well along with Toyota Aygo that have decent presence in the market and it will be these two cars that will pose strict resistance to the new Honda car. The under four meter car will be a city car and it is powered by 1.2 L iVTEC petrol engine and is offered in automatic and manual transmission options. The car is expected to have an upper hand over its rivals following the known superb build quality and the extra premium nature of Honda cars. However, already present options and a saturated segment could be the deterrents of the immense success of Brio in SA.
