Honda City, Brio drive Honda India’s January sales
Honda India witnessed surge in sales in the month of January 2013, the Japanese car maker registered sales of 5,451 units in January 2013. This is around three fold increase in the sales in the Indian car market. In the same time last year, the company sold just 1,784 units. Honda’s most popular model Honda City sedan accounted for 2,898 units while the petite vehicle Honda Brio hatchback accounted for 2,336 units. Other than these, 61 units of Honda Jazz premium hatchback were sold while the rest 53 units sold were of Honda Civic sedan.

Honda is said to be developing diesel engines for its cars and the first diesel car that Honda will roll out in India is Honda Amaze which is based on Honda’s small car Brio. Looking at the growing popularity of Honda Brio, I can say that its sedan version could also gain the same popularity.The sedan is yet in the development stage and will be launched in India by the end of this year.
