Hyundai Creta Creates A Milestone Of Selling 5 Lakh Units Since 2015
Hyundai Creta, the bestselling compact SUV from the Korean carmaker Hyundai created a milestone by touching the mark of 5 lakh units sold in the Indian car market since its launch back in 2015. The second generation of Creta was launched in March this year and succeeded in receiving more than 65,000 bookings despite the lockdown. Not only this, after lockdown Creta has been dominating the SUV segment successfully during the last three months (May, June, and July).
During the period from April to July this year, Hyundai Cars India Limited has sold out, 34,212 units of Creta, Kona EV, Venue, and Tucson in the Indian car market. According to the company sources it also exported Creta in 88 countries. In India, Creta has emerged as a tough contender for Renault Duster, Kia Seltos, Nissa Kicks, Tata Harrier, and MG Hector.
The second generation of Creta that has been launched this year in March is developed on the same platform that is used for developing Kia Seltos. It underpins new design philosophy, BS-VI engine options, and a bunch of features that are offered for the first time in the segment. Some of these features are electronic parking brake with auto hold, smart panoramic sunroof 10.25-inch touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, paddle shifters, one-touch cruise control system, bluelink connected car technology with voice commands, touch air-purifier, remote start, and a few more.
Speaking about the engine options, the petrol variant is offered with two engine options of a 1.5-liter petrol engine boosting the power of 115 bhp and mated with a CVT transmission system, 1.4-liter turbo petrol engine generating the power of 140 bhp and mated with a seven-speed DCT transmission system. The diesel variant will be mated with a 1.5-liter engine with a torque converter and develops the power of 115 bhp. The six-speed manual gearbox has been offered as a standard transmission system across all the trims.
