Hyundai Elantra could be renamed as ‘Long Dong’!
Hyundai Motors is all set to launch the third generation Hyundai Elantra sedan at the upcoming Beijing Motor Show which will start on April 23rd, 2012. Demand in Chinese market is quite similar to that in the Indian auto market, while launching cars in India it is kind of mandatory for auto honchos to add beige interiors and chrome topping in their cars to lure the Indian customers. Similarly in China too the same trend is followed by the auto makers. Hyundai eyes to capture the D segment with the new Elantra in the Chinese market, it will also bestow the revamped Elantra with its fluidic design which can be seen in almost all Hyundai cars now.

Hyundai seeks to regain the luxury segment with upgraded Elantra. But with so many rivals already in the arena it is not going to be easy at all for Hyundai. Rumour has it that new Elantra could be renamed ‘Lang Dong’ for Chinese market. The China bound Elantra will come affixed with a front grille and modified foglight housings. However, not many changes have been made in the interior of the sedan. Spaced out spokes equipped wheels seem to be taken from Kia.

In the beginning of January this year, Hyundai displayed the new Elantra at the Auto Expo, but the sedan which was revealed at the Expo missed the bling which it will adorn for the Chinese market. As far as Indian auto market is concerned, Hyundai offers chrome embellishments and beige interior even in its hatchbacks Hyundai Eon and Hyundai i10.
