Hyundai Elantra launch soon, more details emerge

The Hyundai Elantra is on its way to a comeback in India soon and as per the various sources information, more details about the car have emerged. The new Hyundai car in the Rs 12 lakh category is most awaited in India as this segment is hot after the entry level sedan segment. Also, Hyundai is still missing a sedan in this price band as the highest model of Hyundai Verna is priced at Rs 11.26 lakh. Notably, this will be the second innings of this car after it was discontinued earlier due to low demand for the car. But the Indian market has grown up now and there is an increasing demand for premium segment sedans in India.

The Elantra launch is seen as one of the most important launches after the Korean car maker revised the Verna and the Hyundai Santa Fe. Meanwhile there was Hyundai Eon small car launch as well that has certainly given India a robust entry level Hyundai car. However, being only in petrol model, the Eon too had to succumb to the overall effect on petrol car sales. As per the information, the Elantra will have both diesel and petrol options. The diesel Elantra will be powered by 1.6 L CRDi engine that will output around 128 PS power and a maximum torque equal to 259 Nm. The peak power delivery and torque output will be at low rpms so expect the Elantra to behave like a city car in the city and a sedan on the highways. The petrol car will have 1.8 L, 150 PS engine under the hood.

No doubt, Hyundai cars in India are given a status just after Maruti cars and Elantra launch in India is seen as a major move by the Korean after the Hyundai Sonata launch earlier. More information about the Elantra reveals that the car will have 6 speed manual or automatic gearbox option and will be available in six exciting colors besides dual AC, fully adjustable, ventilated driver seat and a lot of other features that will be more than welcome in this price range.
