Hyundai India Initiates The Bookings Of Facelift Elantra
Finally the Korean car making company Hyundai Motors is all set to launch the facelift version of its premium sedan Elantra in the Indian car market on October 3, 2019. Prior to this the company had launched the same version of American and ASEAN countries during the month of April this year. In its new avatar the facelift Elantra will be bestowed with a plethora features followed by removal of the diesel engine from the line-up.

The facelift Elantra will be now powered with petrol engine that will be capable of generating the power of 152 bhp and the transmission duties will be performed by six speed manual gearbox and also with an option of six speed torque convertor automatic transmission system. The reason for removing the diesel engine from the line-up is to implementation of BS VI emission norms and the interest of buyers towards the petrol vehicles. However, it doesn’t mean that the diesel variant of the Elantra now never makes its way to the line-up, depending upon the demand and changing market scenario, the company might introduce the diesel version in the later months.
As far as upgrading the features is concerned, it is reported to receive lots of upgrades in the form of LED headlamps, tail lamps with light guides, on the exterior front. Inside the cabin, it will receive a touchscreen infotainment system that supports connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Speaking about the price, it is believed to receive minor hike than compared to its existing price tag and can be offered with the starting price of Rs. 14 lakh and go high up to Rs. 21 lakh.

After launch the facelift Elantra will compete against Toyota Corolla Altis, Honda Civic and Skoda Octavia. With this price tag , it might be difficult for the Elantra to make its position in the market, due to the availability of various compact SUVs like Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, MG Hector and others in the Indian car market.
