Hyundai Eon LPG variant launch by 2012 mid

Hyundai Motors India Limited launched their entry level vehicle in the form of Hyundai Eon in the October month and the small car received quite decent response in terms of sales volumes. Now with an intention to serve maximum output or value for money to its consumer the company plans to launch an LPG variant of Hyundai Eon.

Earlier, speculations of Hyundai Eon getting a diesel heart were flying in the auto market, but all were rested since the company made this announcement. At present the company seems in no mood to offer a diesel power- train to its little 800cc car. The mini car is a base level car in Hyundai stable and in case a diesel is offered; which will surely increase the vehicle price, then Eon might not sit on the entrance point. As a result, the motive behind the launch of low priced Eon that was to turn-around huge sales volume will go for a toss. The LPG variant is expected to be introduced within the first or second quarter of 2012.

The automobile consumers who are city travelers mainly choose small cars such as Maruti Suzuki Alto or Hyundai Eon as earlier they use to travel through public transport such as buses and local trains for movement within city. The availability of LPG fuel is the only concern for the car buyer but the urban resident will possibly have no issues with this fuel choice as it may not be available on the highways, but always offered on majority of fuel pumps in the city. Hence the decision seems fitting to introduce LPG variant especially for city dwellers.

The petrol prices are higher as compared to diesel, LPG or CNG hence, the introduction of twin fuel cars by next year appears hale and hearty from the consumer prospect as then he will be able to switch between Petrol-CNG and LPG-Petrol. A slight price increase of approximately Rs 20-22 Thousand can be expected for Hyundai Eon; which will turn it into a truly fuel economical and under budget twin fuel mini car.
