Hyundai i20, 2015 captured un-camouflaged
As reported earlier Korean car maker Hyundai Motors is working on bringing the next generation i20 hatchback soon in global market. This was also witnessed by spies who have witnessed the hatchback going for test drives on several occasions. Now it is for the first time that the spies have succeeded in witnessing the all new generation next Hyundai i20 totally un-camouflaged. According to reports received from spies the new i20 had received ochre yellow color treatment which is similar to upcoming hatchback Fiat Punto Evo from Italian car maker. The hatchback although continues the company’s fluidic design philosophy but has been developed completely on new platform named IB platform. The hatchback receives some remarkable cosmetic surgeries on the exteriors; the most notable are enlarged headlamps and tail lamps. The top end variant of the hatchback will embellish LED tail lamps and disc brakes.
As far as engine configuration is concerned it is speculated that the Indian version of next generation Hyundai i20 will continue the existing engine configuration in both the petrol and diesel variants. This means that the petrol variant will be empowered with 1.2 litre petrol engine churning the power of 83 bhp and torque of 113Nm, while the diesel variant will equip 1.4 litre diesel engine boosting the power of 89bhp and torque of 220 Nm. Both the engine will be mated with six speed manual transmission system, however it is also anticipated that company might offer four speed automatic transmission system in high end variant of petrol version.
An interesting fact associated with next generation i20 is that according to reports received from the spies it carried the logo of i20 at its rear side, but going through the trend of company industry players believe that company might launch the new i20 as Hyundai Grand i20. It is also believed that company will continue selling the existing version of i20 along with the refreshed i20 as last year also company had launched i10 with moniker of Grand i10.
