Hyundai Venue Equipped With iMT Launched In India
Hyundai Motors India Limited, the Indian arm of Korean carmaker Hyundai Motors has launched the upgraded version of the compact SUV Venue in the Indian car market. The 2020 Venue is equipped with an Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) and is offered in SX and SX (O) trims priced Rs. 9.99 lakh and Rs. 11.08 lakh (ex-showroom prices). Along with these trims, the Korean carmaker has also launched the Sport trim of the Venue with the starting price of Rs. 10.20 lakh and going high up-to Rs. 11.58 lakh (ex-showroom price).
The Hyundai Venue iMT is equipped with a Kappa 1.0-liter T-GDi BS6 petrol engine, while the newly introduced Sport Trim is empowered with 1.0 – liter petrol and 1.5-liter diesel engine. The transmission system in the former trim is equipped with an iMT system along with an option of a 7-DCT gearbox, whereas the diesel variant is offered with a six-speed manual transmission system. According to sources of company, “the iMT technology features a Transmission Gear Shift (TGS) lever with Intention Sensor, Hydraulic Actuator and Transmission Control Unit (TCU). The Transmission Control Unit receives a signal from TGS Lever Intention Sensor, indicating the driver’s desire to change gears. Then the TCU sends a signal to engage Hydraulic Actuator forming hydraulic pressure.”
