Indian Auto Expo 2014 witnesses the unveil of new Corolla Altis
Japanese car maker Toyota Motors had unveiled the new Corolla Altis in Indian Auto Expo 2014 yesterday. As company has also started the booking of this generation next sedan during the event it is speculated that company will launch it for sale by the mid of May this year. The generation next Corolla Altis will be offered in both petrol and diesel guises. The petrol variant will be equipped by 1.8 litre Dual VVT-I engine developing the power of 140 PS. It is mated with six speed manual transmission or Super CVT 7 speed automatic transmission system. The diesel variant will be powered with 1.4 litre D-4D engine churning the power of 88.4 PS and will be mated with six speed manual transmission system.
The major changes offered in the new avatar of Corolla Altis makes it more aggressive and dynamic. The front portion receives broad air intakes, chromed grille along with sweeping back headlamps. The major changes which have been offered in exteriors have been taken from company’s Furia Corolla concept car as this can be witnessed on the window line and curve marks on the rear window. Like the front fascia the rear portion has also been developed in an stunning style as it can be witnessed from newly designed bumper, horizontal tail lamp followed by the boot lid.
The interiors have been developed with dual tone color combination of black and beige colors. The central console integrates seven inch high defined touchscreen infotainment system. It would be interested to learn that the infotainment system is supported with Bluetooth telephony, Sat-Navigation, AUX-in, USB and tuner. Apart from introducing various impressive cosmetic changes in the generation next Corolla Altis, Toyota has also paid proper attention on offering sufficient safety measures in this sedan, it is blessed with airbags, traction control system ABS+EBD, brake assist and vehicle stability control system.
