Land Rover to launch Discovery Sport in Indian car market in August 2015
British iconic car maker Land Rover is going to bring the Sport edition of Discovery in Indian car market this year sometimes during the month of August. The SUV would be brought through completely knocked route (CKD) route and would be offered with one engine option of 2.2 litre four cylinder diesel engine boosting the power of two tunes that is 147 bhp and 187 bhp. It would be mated with nine speed automatic transmission system. It is reported that the Indian version of Discovery Sport would not bestow the petrol engine of 2.0 litre engine.
The major features that would be offered in Land Rover Discovery Edition in Indian car market would be touchscreen infotainment system, xenon headlights, leather seat upholstery, panoramic sunroof, dual zone climate control system, six USB charging sockets, four 12 V power sockets, electrically adjusted front seats and many more. One thing which is of concern about Sport version of Land Rover Discovery is that it is not yet revealed that whether the Indian specific version would receive pedestrian airbag ad autonomous emergency braking system or not. After launch it will compete against Volvo XC 60, Mercedes M Class, BMW X3 and Audi Q5. The major factor which differentiates Land Rover Discovery from its rivals is availability of seven seats as compared to its rivals which could accommodate only five passengers.
