Mahindra Scorpio-N Garners Rs 18,000 Crore In 30 Minutes

The domestic carmaker Mahindra and Mahindra has started receiving the bookings of its highly awaited Scorpio-N SUV from July 30, 2022. According to company sources, it received more than 1,00,000 bookings in just thirty minutes and created a new record. This helped the company to garner a profit of Rs 18,000 crore in half-hour. The company will start the delivery of the new Scorpio-N next month.

The sources of the company said that it plans to deliver 20,000 units of the SUV by December this year. It is also reported that the company will keep the delivery of the top-end Z8L trim on priority. It would be interesting to know that due to minor glitches by the payment gateway provider the official booking website of the company succeed in receiving bookings without any serious crashes. 
 
The buyers of the first 25,000 bookings will be offered the Scorpio-N at the introductory price of Rs 11.99 lakh for the entry-level trim and Rs 23.9 lakh for the top-end trim. The petrol variant and the diesel variant of the Scorpio-N have been priced in the range of Rs 11.99 lakh to Rs 20.95 lakh and Rs 12.49 lakh and Rs 23.9 lakh respectively.
 
Underhood, the petrol variant will get the power from a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol engine and the diesel variant will be powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk engine. The former generates the power of 200 bhp and the torque of 370 Nm and 380 Nm developed by MT and AT trims respectively. The lower trims of the diesel variant will develop the power of 130 bhp and the torque of 300 Nm developed by the trim with a manual gear transmission system, whereas the top-end trims will develop the power of 175 bhp followed by a torque of 370 Nm and 400 Nm developed by the manual and automatic gear transmission systems. The transmission options include a six-speed manual gear and six-speed automatic transmission systems.
 
There will be three driving modes - Zip, Zap and Zoom offered in the diesel variant. It will come with an option of rear-wheel drive and an all-wheel-drive system. The trim with an all-wheel-drive option is named as 4Xplorer and is available with four off-road driving modes including Sand, Mud, Grass and Snow. It is equipped with a front independent and Penta-link rear suspension system.
