Mahindra Verito sedan to get a mid-life facelift

The only sedan in Mahindra’s portfolio, Mahindra Verito is up for a mid-life facelift. Verito which was earlier sold as Mahindra Renault Logan was re-launched in the Indian car market last year after Mahindra took over the rights of manufacturing and selling it under its name. Apart from this the company is also working on a compact version of the sedan that will comply with the under four meter philosophy to make the most of the 24% excise duty levied on the cars which fall under four meters length. The facelift is being given to the sedan to keep the popularity alive as this is the only offering by Mahindra in the sedan segment.

The revitalized Verito is likely to flaunt a new front end glutted with a fresh grille. Redesigned tail lights are expected to be affixed on the rear end of the sedan car. Other than these changes, Mahindra Verito sedan will receive some cosmetic touch up to enhance its austere looks. However, Mahindra will not make any mechanical changes in the sedan as the car is already a retouched version of Renault Logan that now sports a Mahindra badge. Since it is conceived on Logan therefore this possibility is also beheaded.

Mahindra Verito sales improved drastically as it adorned the Mahindra badge, thanks to the aggressive distribution and marketing strategy. The sedan is also popular in the taxi segment, as the car demands low maintenance, returns good fuel economy, has capacious interiors and comes with high reliability. The diesel version of the Verito sedan is powered with a 1.5 liter K9K turbo diesel engine that churns out a maximum power of 65 Bhp and a peak torque of 160 Nm. The K9K turbo diesel engine is extremely frugal and is expected to power the compact version of the sedan too.
