Mahindra XUV500 Performs Better Than The New Debutantes
Does the above image remind you about anything? The tweet was made almost 7 years back in 2012 replying to Ratan Tata’s address to the annual general meeting of the shareholders during which he had said that, "I have a great respect for what Mahindra & Mahindra has been able to do. I also have a certain degree of sadness and shame that we have let that happen". Interestingly, keeping the same comment in concern the domestic car maker Mahindra and Mahindra continues to get inspired from it, that despite of new entrants in the field of SUVs, the XUV500 succeeds in beating the infants like Jeep Compass and Tata Harrier in terms of the sales in September 2019.
According to the sales reports revealed by the domestic car make,r its best selling SUV XUV500 which, regardless of being an old player and getting ready to be replaced by its next-generation has succeeded in giving tough competition to the infants like Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier, MG Hector, and Jeep Compass. Although going through the decline in the sales the XUV500 also witnessed the huge decline of 41 percent in the sales during September this year as compared to sales for the same period last year, but interestingly succeeded in managing the lead in comparison to the sales of the new debutants in the recent times.
It is reported that 1,120 units of the Mahindra XUV500 were sold during September this year as compared to 1,902 units sold in September 2018. On the other side, 941 units of the Tata Harrier were sold by the domestic car maker Tata Motors in September this year. The Jeep Compass, which regardless of being liked by the people also recorded the sales of only 603 units sold during September 2019.
With the existing model of XUV500 still impressing the buyers in terms of sales, it is believed that its upcoming version will a game-changer for the domestic car manufacturing company. Slated for showcase during the Indian Auto Expo 2020, the new XUV500 will be developed on monocoque design and equipped with the latest safety and technical features.
