Mark of 1 lakh bookings crossed by Maruti Suzuki Baleno
Maruti Suzuki Baleno the premium hatchback from country’s leading car manufacturer has succeeded in washing out the drawbacks of S-Cross which despite of being equipped with remarkable features did not succeeded in impressing buyers towards itself because of its pricing strategy. But launch of Baleno almost six months back in October 2015 brought smile on the faces of Indo-Japanese car makers with bookings crossing the mark of 1 lakh units, thus achieving a milestone of receiving huge number of bookings within the short span of launch by any of the vehicles.

It would be interested to know that news regarding this milestone comes at the time when recently the car maker has hiked the prices of its entire portfolio after Finance Minister of India, Shri. Arun Jaitley had announced to impose infrastructure tax on all types of four wheelers. When launched in October 2015 Baleno was offered with starting price of Rs. 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi) for base variant. After that earlier this year in month of January car maker hiked the prices of Baleno hatchback upto Rs. 12,000. Now with recent hike the price of base variant now costs to Rs. 5.15 lakh for petrol variant and Rs. 6.33 lakh for diesel base variant, both prices are ex-showroom prices.

The petrol variant of hatchback is empowered with 1.2 litre K-Series petrol engine churning the power of 83 bhp and torque of 115Nm whereas the diesel variant receives the engine of 1.3 litre DDiS diesel engine that churns the power of 74 bhp and torque of 190Nm. Both the engines are coated with five speed manual transmission system followed by petrol engine offered with CVT automatic gearbox. According to reports company is going to export Baleno to 100 countries across the world.
