Maruti Baleno with Boosterjet Engine being tested in Mumbai
Rumors regarding integration of Boosterjet Engine in Maruti’s hatchback Baleno had been in air from quite some time. Now it is for first time reported that spies have witnessed the same version being tested on Mumbai roads comprising of test plates and 16 inch alloy rims. The alleged version of Baleno is expected to debut as Baleno RS during the upcoming festive season.

The hatchback will be empowered with 1.0 litre boosterjet three cylinder petrol engine which will churn the power of 110 hp and torque of 170Nm. It will be mated with five speed manual gearbox and is claimed to be fuel efficient than compared to existing version of petrol variant offered in Nexa Baleno. The eye catching features of this version will be newly developed sportier front bumper integrated with broad radiator intake and sliver garnished linings, roof spoiler, mesh front grille, low rear bumper, side skirts and black colored alloy wheels. After launch in Indian car market it will compete against Fiat Abarth Punto and Volkswagen Polo GT TSI.
