Maruti Ertiga Spotted!

Maruti Ertiga (also known as Maruti RIII), one of the most awaited mini MUV in the Indian market that is expected to hit the Indian roads very soon, was once again spotted testing on the Indian roads. This time, a black shade Maruti Ertiga spotted while on testing on the country roads. There have been a number of such incidents when the car spotted testing in the recent months, helping the car enthusiasts in knowing the more exact details of the model.

The Maruti Ertiga will be rolled-out in the price segment of Rs 7 to 8 lakh where it will be taking on with the rivals like Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and Tata Safari. The Maruti Ertiga will be of a compact size and would have shorter space inside as compared to the same of Innova model.

The mini crossover Maruti Ertiga is expected to be rolled-out in both petrol and diesel versions in the Indian auto market, offering the interested buyers to chose from a wider range of options. The petrol version of the car is speculated to be powered by a 1.4L petrol K14 series engine which will deliver a top power of 95 bhp.

On the other hand, the diesel version will come powered by a 1.3 liter engine and expected to deliver a peak power of 89 bhp, this is the same engine that Maruti sources from Italian car maker Fiat and powers its popular models like Swift, Ritz and Dzire.

It has been more than a year since the car is expected to hit the Indian roads. The Maruti RIII concept, on which the company will develop the production version of Maruti Ertiga, was showcased at the International Auto Expo in the National Capital, in January 2010, where it made company counter flooded with the customer enquiries related to the launch of the model in the Indian market.

Though the company is yet to make an official announcement related to the time-line of launch and specification details of the car in the Indian market, the car is widely speculated to hit Indian roads very soon.
