Maruti Ertiga aka RIII Concept; compact MUV projected debut in 2012 Auto Expo

For the largest carmaker in India Maruti Suzuki it was a proud moment in the year 2010 when its RIII MUV concept was cherished a lot at the Indian Auto Expo. The Multi Utility Vehicle (MUV) or Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) with its superb exterior style and one of its kind interiors promised to be the next big thing from Maruti Suzuki. After continues toil in toning that concept vehicle it is now anticipated that Maruti Ertiga will acquire a formal launch in January 2012 Indian Auto Expo.

The MPV will be available with seven seat capacity and is estimated to fall within the price bracket of INR 6 Lakhs – 9 Lakhs. With its competitive pricing Maruti Ertiga; although small in size, will give tough time to its opponents Mahindra Xylo and Toyota Innova.

The best part about this RIII Concept automobile is that it will be offered in petrol and diesel run engine choices. A suitable size vehicle with affordable pricing will be packed with a 1.4L K-series petrol engine; peak displacement till date from Maruti, which will generate a power of 95 bhp and top torque of 130 Nm. India’s favorite diesel engine of Maruti Ertiga will be the Fiat Multijet 1.3L which produces a maximum power of 90 bhp and peak torque of 200 Nm.

If everything goes as per plans and the Maruti Suzuki’s dispute at its manufacturing plants gets resolved and production commences, one can expect that after the 2012 Indian Auto Expo launch, the country can witness Maruti Ertiga rollout for sales in auto market.
