Maruti had its past, has its present and will have its future in Haryana: CM

Chief Minister of Haryana State- Mr. Bhupendra Singh Hooda clarified that Maruti Suzuki is in no mood to relocate its manufacturing units in other state, instead the leading carmaker has expansion plans for Haryana state. Stating this he ruled out the charges of the opposition parties, that Maruti Suzuki is shifting its units.

In the press conference Mr. Hooda, said that the rival political parties INLD and Haryana Janhit Congress leaders are spreading false news of Maruti Suzuki shifting its base from the state. He seemed confident in stating that Haryana state will continue to be the operational base and future for the company.

A letter was received by him from Mr. Osamu Suzuki; the top official of Maruti Suzuki, and it said that the firm was interested to extend in Haryana state by investing more, the Chief Minister further added. As per him, the news of Maruti Suzuki shifting to Gujarat had no connection with the labor trouble at Manesar plant.

Government of Haryana has no bad feeling for the company as it plans to move Gujarat to make its export operations convenient as the port lies there, he informed.

According to him, no one can stop the firm from getting bigger and place manufacturing units at other locations, but one cannot relate that the decision to move was followed by Manesar mishap.

Informing on the latest investment plans by Maruti Suzuki, Mr.Hooda said that the company already has three production units in Haryana, now it plans the fourth unit in Manesar with an investment of INR 2,000 Crore.

The three units roll out Maruti Swift, Maruti Wagon R, Maruti A-Star, Maruti Swift Dzire, Maruti Alto and Maruti SX4 sedan.

He also added that in next two years company intended to setup an International Research and Development (R&D) testing hub; one of the largest R&D in Asia, at Rohtak with an investment of INR 1,700 Crore.
