Maruti Suzuki Baleno Launched Globally With Price Tag of Rs. 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom price)
Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the hatchback which made its entrance in Indian auto world couple of months back and soon became as one of the keenly awaited hatchbacks in Indian car market, which is mainly because of Baleno name attached with it. Finally the Indo-Japanese maker MSIL has launched the hatchback in Indian car market with starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom price). The hatchback has been offered in both petrol and diesel trims. The petrol variant has been empowered with the same engine as offered in Swift hatchback i.e. 1.2 litre K12 engine churning the power of 83 bhp, while the diesel variant is offered with 1.3 DDiS diesel engine boosting the power of 73 bhp and has been carried from Fiat. Both the engines are mated with five speed manual gear transmission system followed by petrol trim which is also offered with CVT transmission system. After launch of S-Cross crossover almost two months back in August Baleno hatchback is another fresh launch by car maker to lure buyers during this festive season.

Talking about the features that are adorned in new Baleno it would not be wrong to say that is has been offered with all contemporary features that are capable to receive whistles and applause from all segments of car enthusiasts including critics. The top end variant is bestowed with features like projector headlamps, DRLs on the exteriors. Inside the cabin it receives color TFT information screen, 7 inch touch screen with rear parking camera, climate control, Apple Car Play introduced for first time in any of the hatcbacks existing in Indian car market, and satellite navigation system. The hatchback is said to deliver the fuel efficient performance of 21.40 kmpl delivered by petrol trim and 27.39 kmpl by diesel variant. Physically it looks like an enlarged version of Swift hatchback measuring the length of 3995 mm, width of 1745 mm and height of 1470mm. It will compete against Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai Elite i20.
