Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Diesel To Be Upgraded With Six-Speed MT System
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift 2020 is on the cards of the Indo-Japanese car maker, and the major attraction of this launch is the introduction of 1.5 litre diesel engine that will replace the existing 1.3 litre engine and will be strictly according to BS-VI compliance. According to the reports the spies have already captured the diesel Ciaz with the new engine configuration being tested on the roads. It would be interesting to know that along with this major upgrade the diesel engine will also be offered with six-speed manual gear transmission system, which till now is not offered in any of the existing variants.

The new 1.5 litre diesel engine is reported to develop the power of 95 bhp at 4000 rpm and the torque of 225Nm at 2500 rpm. The engine is said to be developed by the in-house engineers and will be launched in the Indian car market during the month of January 2020. The engine will, however, will not be offered with an existing mild hybrid system and is reported to deliver an average of 26 kmpl, which is about 2 kmpl less than the existing diesel engine. The new diesel engine will be offered in the Delta, Zeta and Alpha trim under diesel variant, the entry-level trim Sigma is believed to be discontinued after the introduction of BS VI compliant engines.

Besides, this major change, there would not be any major change in the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz 2020 and will be continued to be offered with the existing features that were introduced in its facelift version that was launched last year. As far as the price of new diesel Ciaz with 1.5 litre engine is concerned, it is believed to be costly as compared to its existing version.
