Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Touches the Landmark of 3,00,000 Sales
The premium sedan Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, which was launched back in 2014 has added a new jewel in its crown. According to recent industry reports the sedan has crossed the mark of 3,00,000 units sold after 84 months of its launch. The Indo-Japanese had sold 1,50,000 units of Ciaz in 30 months, while it took 54 months to touch the mark of the next 1,50,000 units.

In beginning, the country’s largest carmaker had launched the Ciaz in both petrol and diesel variants. It would be interesting to know that in 2016 when the mid-sized sedan touched the mark of 1,00,000 units, 55% of its sales were from the diesel variant. Ciaz crossed the mark of 1,50,000 units in 2017, after that it took 54 months to touch this mark. This data is enough to reveal the fluctuation in the demand for this sedan.
At present Ciaz is offered with a 102hp, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine mated with Maruti’s Smart Hybrid technology. The transmission duties are performed by a five-speed manual gear transmission system along with an option of a four-speed torque converter gearbox. It offers ARAI certified mileage of 20.04 kmpl. The prices of Ciaz starts from Rs 8.72 lakh and goes high up to Rs 11.71 lakh (both the prices are ex-showroom prices, New Delhi).
