Maruti Suzuki produces 60 units of A-Star and SX4

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) manufactured a cumulative 750 units of its highest selling car Maruti Swift and other cars Maruti A-star and Maruti SX4. According to the company, 60 units of Maruti SX4 and Maruti A-star were manufactured, and 690 Maruti Swifts were manufactured. The production of these cars was affected by labour unrest at Maruti Suzuki's Manesar plant, in Haryana.

After labour unrest at the Manesar plant, which started on August 29, Maruti Suzuki India resumed the production of Maruti SX4 on 27th September and Maruti A-star on 28th Spetember, at company's Manesar plant, in the state of Haryana.

Maruti Suzuki has to stop production at the Manesar plant on August 29, because the workers went on strike, after the management of the company prevented the workers from entering the premises of the plant before signing the Good Conduct Bond. The Good Conduct Bond was introduced because of some workers' deliberate quality hampers in the cars manufactured at the plant. Maruti Suzuki also dismissed 21 workers on the grounds of indiscipline. But, the situation still has not been resolved and most of the workers are not ready to sign the bond, thus, staying away from production.

The automobile company is focusing on taking the production level of Maruti Swift higher than normal. This is being done to meet with heavy demands and long waiting list for the hatchback. The booking figure for Maruti swift has reached 108,000 units.

The country's largest car manufacturer has hired new workers to continue the production schedule at the Manesar plant. Maruti Suzuki has also moved some employees from the Gurgaon plant, in order to boost the production level.
