Maruti Suzuki Wagon R EV Likely To Launch In 2020
Recently, the country’s leading car maker Maruti Suzuki India Limited launched the next generation of its best selling hatchback Wagon R in the Indian car market during the month of January 2019. Now the Indo-Japanese car maker is getting ready to launch its electric version sometime in 2020 and for this the company is intensively conducting the test drives across the country. The electric Wagon R is believed to be priced in the bracket of Rs. 7 lakh, comprising of the subsidies that have been offered to electric car manufacturers under the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles (FAME) scheme. However, this price might be changed with the implementation of FAME2 phase.

According to the sources earlier the cost of Wagon R EV was believed to be priced around Rs. 10 lakh, but, going through the average of running more than 200 kilometers after a single charge and a decline in its cost up to 25%, it is believed that it will help in encouraging the use of electric vehicles in the country. One thing which is yet to be clear about the EV Wagon R is that nothing has been so far spoken regarding its charging abilities. After launch in the Indian car market, the Wagon R EV will go against the Mahindra e2o, which however will be phased out from the Indian car market due to the absence of standard safety norms. This will help Wagon R EV to become the best affordable electric vehicle in the country at the time of its launch.

As far as features of the new Wagon R EV are concerned, it is believed to spacious and carry a new design language than the recently launched version. It is said that it will be embellished with features like contemporary infotainment system that supports connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
