Besides, this mechanical change, no other changes has been made on the vehicle.
Before this, the company had introduced the refreshed version of Wagon R empowered with BS-VI compliant with 1.2-liter petrol engine and priced Rs. 5.10 lakh for the entry-level vehicle. One thing which might disappoint the buyers of Wagon R is that despite being the best selling hatchback in the country, it recently received the 2-star rating in the global NCAP test. It is grapevine that soon it is going to launch the premium edition of the hatchback in India which would be christened as Maruti Suzuki XL5 and sold through Nexa dealerships. Aesthetically it will be quite different from the existing version of the Wagon R.
